"We'll find out who would've done this:" Increasing reward for information on Petersen's killer

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A reward is being offered for anyone with information regarding the shooting of 5-year-old, Laylah Petersen.

Friday, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) announced a $5,000 reward -- and this evening, FOX6 News has learned that will be matched by business owners. They want to ensure someone is arrested.

A heartbreaking crime that has crushed a community.

"It's disgusting, it's disturbing. Enough is enough. We can't tolerate this," said family friend, Tory Lowe.

5-year-old Laylah Petersen's killer is still on the loose. It has left a family devastated and a community looking for justice.

"We implore the public to come forward with information," said ATF Agent, George Lauder.

The $5,000 will be rewarded to anyone with information leading to an arrest in the case.

"The men and women of ATF like our colleagues at the Milwaukee Police Department and members of this community are profoundly saddened by this unprovoked and senseless act of violence," said Lauder.

And just hours after the first $5,000 was offered, a handful of business owners are offering even more. Now making the reward $10,000.

Citizens for Urban Justice will be running ads on three radio stations -- asking for help in finding Petersen's killer. An effort to bring justice in case and some comfort to a community.

"I have no doubt, we'll find out who would've done this," said Lauder.

Anyone with information should contact the Milwaukee Police Department at (414)935-7360, or ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS. All calls will be kept confidential.
