Website of Milwaukee Police Department temporarily disabled by "outside group"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) has taken its own website (MilwaukeePoliceNews.com) off-line to perform upgrades -- after officials say "the site was being disabled by an outside group."

The department became aware of the vulnerability to the site around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30th. The cause of the interruption remains under investigation.
