We Energies works with customers to ‘Stay Connected’

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- We Energies urges customers who are behind on their energy bills to get caught up before the end of the winter heating moratorium. Customers in significant arrears are at risk of disconnection starting April 16th.

The company is launching its Stay Connected campaign, using phone calls, bill inserts and other messaging to alert customers who are behind on their bills.

"We want our customers to call us, if they've fallen behind, try and get caught up," said We Energies spokesperson Cathy Schulze. "There are flexible payment plans that we can arrange with customers. There are minimum payment arrangements that can be made to avoid disconnection. Our budget billing program is one that some people might not be familiar with."

Budget billing also may help customers manage their monthly energy expenses by spreading out their charges more evenly over 12 months. Customers having problems paying their bills are encouraged to contact We Energies as soon as possible.

They can select a payment option and learn more about energy assistance by calling 800-842-4565. Customers also can visit weenergies.com to learn more about online payment options.
