We Energies Cookie Book giveaway huge success

It's a sign the holidays are on the way. On Saturday, We Energies released their annual "Cookie Book." The event is getting so big, they now host the event at Miller Park.

People waited in line for hours to get their hands on one of the 185,000 copies of the book. The "Cookie Book" is filled with 37 recipes on 34 pages. Last year, the group gave away 16,000 copies within the first four hours.

The "Cookie Book" giveaway started about 80 years ago when the company's home economists would go to customer's homes and taught them how to use their electric appliances. Recipes were all provided by the employees themselves and the tradition is still going strong 80 years later.

The recipes can be downloaded online for free, but one cookie baker says it isn't the same, "I like the nice hard copy books, it's got a nice hard cover. You can wipe them off when you get all that flour and sugar all over them."
