A woman is dead after a car fleeing a traffic stop hit her vehicle head-on Friday afternoon, June 1. It happened in Wauwatosa near 82nd and North Avenue.
"I'm traumatized. It was just too fast," said Shanice Williams, driver involved in the crash.
Shanice Williams describes the terrifying moments as she drove with her children and ended up in the middle of the crash.
"I heard the , I seen the black car hit the red car, it spinned(sp)," said Williams.
Wauwatosa police say they tried pulling the driver of a black sedan over for a traffic stop near 90th and North, but that person sped off. Minutes later, the car drove eastbound on North Avenue into oncoming traffic. The driver hit a red minivan head-on, killing a Wauwatosa woman behind the wheel.

The crash started a chain reaction.

"He smacked the lady's red van vehicle and it flipped on top of mine and I just hurried up and got my kids up out of there," Williams said.
Williams ran as her car began to smoke and leak. She said the driver of the black car cried for help.
"He was outside of the car laying down in the middle of the street," said Williams.
Williams alerted first responders about the woman in the van, and the man was taken to the Froedtert Hospital.

The street stayed closed for hours as police investigated. The car remained smashed in the street.
