Wauwatosa police search for suspect in attempted robbery

WAUWATOSA -- Wauwatosa police are searching for a suspect who attempted to rob the general manager of a Jimmy John's restaurant on Bluemound Rd. Monday, May 7th.

The attempted robbery occurred when the Jimmy John's general manager was walking a bank deposit bag over to the Tri-City Bank.

The police report on this case says the suspect grabbed the manager's "right shoulder and then reached around his body in an attempt to grab the bank bag. The suspect stated, 'Let me get that money man.'"

The report goes on to say, "the general manager attempted to flee, but the suspect had grabbed onto his sweatshirt. He and the suspect fought over control of the bank deposit bag for approximately one minute before the suspect ran from the scene without the bank deposit bag. The suspect had punched him in the face with a closed fist approximately two times during the struggle. The suspect eventually ran off."

The general manager suffered redness on his left ear and neck. He refused medical attention.

The suspect is described as a white male, 24 years old, 5'10" tall with a thin build and short curly hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
