WANTED: Artist/art teacher to plan the decor for Wisconsin's 2014 National Christmas Tree in D.C.

MADISON (WITI) -- Governor Scott Walker has started accepting applications for artists to plan the décor for Wisconsin’s 2014 National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C.  Each year, a professional artist is selected to work with a youth arts class/program to create ornaments, which will be displayed on Wisconsin’s National Christmas Tree in Washington D.C.

“This year, we’re inviting artists and youth groups to submit applications and designs promoting our great state,” Governor Walker said.  “I’m excited to see great representations of Wisconsin again on our National Christmas Tree.”

Once selected, the artist or art teacher, and class or youth group, will work with the National Park Foundation on the design process.
