Walworth County Sheriff's Office: Man, woman killed in separate crashes over the Halloween weekend

WALWORTH COUNTY -- Officials with the Walworth County Sheriff's Office have identified the victims of two separate fatal crashes from over the Halloween weekend.

The first happened on Saturday, October 29th on Elm Ridge Road, south of I-43 in Darien Township.

The second happened on Sunday, October 30th on School Section Road and Highway 14 in Darien Township.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on October 29th, Sheriff's officials say a crash occurred involving a car and a truck pulling a farm implement trailer.

A car was located in the ditch, with substantial damage. The truck was found on the roadway.

Sheriff's officials said a preliminary investigation has revealed the truck was headed south on Elm Ridge Road, pulling the farm implement trailer with plowing discs. The car was north on Elm Ridge Road when it struck the trailer.

The car was being driven by 65-year-old Christine Boehm of Delavan Township. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 54-year-old truck driver was not hurt.

 

 

 

The second crash happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. on October 30th, and involved a single vehicle that rolled over.

Sheriff's officials say the car rolled over and struck a tree.

A preliminary investigation has revealed the vehicle was headed south on Highway 14 when it attempted to pass a vehicle in a no passing zone -- into oncoming traffic.

The driver then lost control of the vehicle, and it veered into the east ditch, where it overturned and struck a tree.

20-year-old Ramon Echeverria Lima of Darien Township was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's officials say he wasn't wearing his seat belt.

Both of these crashes remain under investigation.
