Walker approves lighting, pavement project at Timmerman Airport

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Governor Scott Walker announced Wednesday, February 5th a $420,000 project for lighting upgrades and pavement repairs at Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport in Milwaukee.

Wendy Hottenstein, airport project engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will replace outdated light fixtures with new LED fixtures, which will provide energy savings and decrease maintenance costs. In addition, deteriorating pavement will be repaired on the end sections of the airport’s runways.

Funding Breakdown


    The project is expected to be completed by summer 2014.

    Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics.
