WAUWATOSA -- A Wauwatosa man's vehicle was stolen on Wednesday afternoon, December 23rd, and his dog was inside. FOX6 News learned Wednesday night the vehicle has been recovered, and the dog is safe.

Police say the victim in this case is a 67-year-old man, and the suspects may be teenage boys.

It happened near 101st and Glendale in Wauwatosa.

"I noticed what appeared to be a man trying to fix his car. He was lying down parallel to the car in the street -- and I thought 'well that`s kind of unusual -- but nothing to get excited about,'" David Seebach, who witnessed this crime said.

As he would discover later, Seebach was actually witnessing a carjacking.

"The car drove away and the man was just lying in the street and that caught my attention and he called out -- 'help! Call the police! I`ve been carjacked!'" Seebach said.

Police say the 67-year-old man was walking to his vehicle when two teenagers approached and pressed something into his back. Police say the victim believed it was a gun.

The victim didn't want to speak with FOX6 News, but he told Seebach:

"He said that he`d been hit in the back of the head with a gun and he hadn`t complied fast enough for the carjackers and so they did that to speed things up I guess," Seebach said.

Police say the thieves stole a 2012 Brown Chevrolet Equinox.

And that's not all they got away with.

"His dog is in his stolen car," Seebach said.

Police say the victim was checked out for minor injuries.

The stolen vehicle was recovered Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. near 45th and Lloyd in Milwaukee.

Police say the dog is OK.

We're told several people were taken into custody in connection with this crime.
