Two-year anniversary approaches: Coalition for Justice hosts 'art build' ahead of Dontre Day

MILWAUKEE -- April 30th will mark two years since the death of Dontre Hamilton.

31-year-old Hamilton was shot and killed in Red Arrow Park in downtown Milwaukee by former Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher Manney.

On Tuesday, April 19th, the "Coalition for Justice" held an "art build."

Artists and organizations from across Milwaukee came together to create signs and banners for use on what they are calling "Dontre Day."

"What we're trying to do here is just have different groups that are all doing good work in the city at different times connect some of the dots with the issues," Pete Railand said.

The Coalition for Justice will hold a rally and march starting at 12:30 p.m. on April 30th, and there are other events scheduled until 8:00 p.m. that day.
