Two teenagers shot and injured Saturday night, home set on fire

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a double shooting and arson that happened on the city's north side late on Saturday, November 30th. It happened near 5th and Burleigh.

The victims, a 19-year-old male and female, each suffered non life-threatening injuries and are being treated at a hospital.

Police say the motive appears to be retaliation.  There are no suspects in custody at this time.

The residence sustained minimal damage as it relates to the arson.

Neighbor P.J. White says he was alarmed to see the blaze Saturday night.

"The porch was on fire. When I say it was on fire -- it was on fire! I just dialed 911. I was so scared. All you heard was gunshots and then the house was on fire," White said.

Neal French says his cousin was one of the shooting victims.

"They had to be after them. I'm mad right now. It's scary because there's little kids that be inside the house and it's just crazy. Whatever they did was wrong and bogus," French said.

Neighbor Richard White says he heard a lot of gunshots on Saturday night.

"We actually heard a number of shots. We heard five rounds at first, and then another eight. One suspect I assumed got away because he ran through the yard and (police) was looking for him because they knocked on our door," White said.

White says the incident has rocked the neighborhood.

"I just pray everything is alright for the victims. I just hope things get better around here in the community because it's just sad," White said.

Anyone with information in this incident is asked to contact Milwaukee police.
