Two killed, two hurt in crash in West Allis: Man arrested for homicide by intoxicated use of vehicle

WEST ALLIS --Two people were killed and two people were taken to the hospital following a serious crash that happened near 60th and Pierce on Monday, April 4th. One person was arrested following this crash -- accused of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

The crash involved three vehicles (a pickup truck, a car and a minivan) and it happened just after 5:00 p.m.

There were numerous occupants in the three vehicles.

Police say a preliminary investigation has revealed the pickup truck was traveling southbound on S. 60th St. and struck the minivan as it made a left hand turn. The pickup truck and minivan traveled into oncoming traffic and impacted the northbound car.

The driver and the passenger of the minivan passed away as a result of the crash.

A passenger in the pickup truck and the driver of the car sustained apparent non-life threatening injures and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

No other significant injuries were reported.

Alcohol and speed appear to be a factor in the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 31-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody by West Allis officers for suspicion of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

The incident will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
