Trade in your artificial Christmas tree to benefit families in need

MILWAUKEE-- Treetime Christmas Creations is teaming up with The Salvation Army to help Milwaukee-area families in need this upcoming holiday season. It'll accomplish this with its "Tree Trade-in" program.

The "Tree Trade-in" program encouarges people to donate their gently-used artificial Christmas trees (three feet and larger). They can schedule a pick-up by calling 1-800-SA-TRUCK or visiting satruck.org. Anyone who makes a donation will receive an online coupon code for an extra 10% off any new online Treetime artificial Christmas tree purchase (which includes free shipping). The coupon must be used by October 31, 2012.

The collected Christmas trees will be donated to The Salvation Army for distribution to area families in need -- and in time for the holiday this year.

This is the first year the "Tree Trade-in" program is being put into action in Milwaukee. It was unveiled in 2011 for Chicago and its suburbs.
