Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers playing two shows at Summerfest’s 50th celebration

MILWAUKEE -- Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers have announced the first dates of their 40th Anniversary Tour, which includes two shows, Wednesday, July 5 and Thursday, July 6, at the Marcus Amphitheater for Summerfest’s 50th celebration. Chris Stapleton will appear as a very special guest.

Tickets for both shows on Wednesday, July 5 and Thursday, July 6 at the Marcus Amphitheater will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. and include Summerfest admission.

Patrons may also utilize "ticketfast" at Ticketmaster.com to print barcoded concert tickets from home. Convenience fees may be added to all purchases.

Special pre-sales for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Highway Companions Club members will begin Wednesday, December 14 at 10 AM CST.

To further commemorate the 40th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are releasing two companion vinyl box sets featuring their entire studio album repertoire. Both box sets are available today via UMe and Reprise/Warner Bros. All LPs in the limited-edition box sets have been pressed on 180-gram vinyl with replica artwork. Several of these albums have been out of print on vinyl for years and most albums have been re-mastered for this release.

Joining Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers for both nights is Chris Stapleton, who won “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Music Video of the Year” (“Fire Away”) at the 50th Annual CMA Awards. His breakthrough album, Traveller, has gone on to receive multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM awards.

Summerfest 2017 – the festival’s 50th edition – will take place June 28 – July 2 and July 4 – July 9 from noon until midnight and will be closed Monday, July 3.
