Three people injured in early morning crash on Highway 14 in Walworth County
TOWN OF WALWORTH (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials say three people were injured in a crash that occurred on Tuesday morning, March 24th just after 8:00 a.m. on Highway 14 -- at the intersection of Six Corners Road and Brick Church Road in the Town of Walworth.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered that a 2000 Peterbilt tractor pulling a loaded flatbed semi-trailer was headed westbound on Highway 14. This unit was struck by a 2007 Ford Focus which failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign at Six Corners Road. This Focus was then forced into the eastbound lane of Highway 14 -- where it struck a 2000 Jeep.
The driver of the Peterbilt is identified as 20-year-old Wesley Brekhus of Havre, Montana. He sustained minor injuries. He was taken to a hospital and later released.
The driver of the Focus is identified as 23-year-old Maxwell Osman of Elkhorn. He sustained severe injuries requiring Flight For Life to transport him from the scene. His injuries include broken bones and internal injuries. He remains in the hospital at this time.
The driver of the Jeep is identified as 20-year-old Garrett Adochio Delavan. He sustained minor injuries. He was taken to a local hospital and later released.
Highway 14 was completely shut down for almost four hours and traffic was detoured while members of the Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit worked this active scene.
This crash remains an open, ongoing investigation.
