Suspect taken into custody after shooting incident in Waukesha

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned a suspect accused of firing shots at a vehicle in Waukesha Wednesday evening, February 5th has been taken into custody.

Waukesha police were notified around 4:00 p.m. of shots being fired in the 2100 block of Kensington, near an apartment complex.

Residents of the complex called police -- claiming a vehicle had been shot at in the parking lot.

Police discovered there were two people who were in the car when it was shot. Those victims were not injured -- and drove to a police station following the incident.

Police say the victims and the suspect in this case knew each other. The suspect is said to have fled on foot.

That suspect is a 24-year-old man. He was taken into custody on February 6th, just before 2:30 p.m. during a traffic stop.

A police source tells FOX6 News it was a dispute between two former roommates.
