WALWORTH COUNTY -- A Walworth County Sheriff's Deputy and the driver of a pickup truck were slightly hurt in a collision at Highway 120 and N. Bloomfield Rd. on Tuesday afternoon, September 1st.

Officials say around 12:30 p.m., the deputy was responding with lights and siren activated to help the Lake Geneva Police Department with subjects who matched the description of the subjects being sought by authorities in Fox Lake, Illinois. Those suspects are believed responsible for the shooting death of a Fox Lake police officer.

Both the deputy and the driver of the pickup truck were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Shortly after the crash, the City of Lake Geneva Police notified the Sheriff’s Office to cancel the request for assistance. The subjects were identified and not believed to be involved in the Fox Lake shooting death.
