SENTENCED: 19-year-old man accused of serving as an accomplice in Family Dollar robberies

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A security guard accused of serving as an accomplice in robberies at two Family Dollar stores has been sentenced in the case against him.

The robberies occurred on February 6th at the Family Dollar store on N. 35th Street and on February 18th at the Family Dollar store on N. 27th Street.

19-year-old Justin Sumlin pleaded guilty to two felony "harboring/aiding a felon" charges.

On Thursday, October 9th, Sumlin was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 18 months of extended supervision, with credit for two days served.

That sentence was stayed, and Sumlin was instead sentenced to three years probation.

If he is to violate that probation, Sumlin will be forced to serve 10 months in the House of Correction with release for work/school.

Sumlin has been ordered to have no contact with the victims in this case, no contact with the two Family Dollar stores, and no contact with his co-defendant, James Boyd.

21-year-old Boyd pleaded guilty to a felony count of armed robbery and a misdemeanor count of bail jumping.

On the armed robbery charge, Boyd was sentenced in September to four years in prison and four years of extended supervision -- with credit for 100 days served.

On the bail jumping charge, Boyd was sentenced to five months in the House of Correction -- served concurrently with the time he's serving for the armed robbery charge.
