Racine police: Two taken into custody following stabbing, armed robbery

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police are investigating a stabbing and armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night, October 7th in the 2200 block of Washington Avenue.

Authorities are were called to the scene around 11:58 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found the victim, a 65-year-old man, suffering from numerous stab wounds to his upper body and head.

Police say the victim was attacked as he entered his apartment building. The offenders robbed the victim during the attack.

Officers began checking the area and quickly located both suspects a short distance away. Officers were able to recover some of the victim’s stolen items as well as other evidence of the crime.

The victim was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare for treatment and later moved to Froedtert Hospital. His injuries are serious but not believed to be life threatening at this time.

Two suspects are being held at the Racine County Jail on Probation/Parole Holds while the investigation continues.
