Rachael Carpani, 'NCIS: Los Angeles' actress, dies at 45

Rachael Carpani, an actress who starred in "NCIS: Los Angeles" has died. She was 45.

Carpani is also best known in Australia for her role in "McLeod’s Daughters," in which she portrayed Jodi Fountain from 2001-2009, Deadline reported.

The entertainer's sister, Georgia Carpani, shared the news in a Dec. 14 Instagram post, revealing she passed away after a long battle with "chronic illness" on Dec. 7.

In 2021, the actress revealed that she was taken to an area hospital with abdominal pain and required surgery for an illness.

The backstory:

Rachael Carpani studied acting at the Australian College of Entertainment at MacQuarie University and at the Drama Works Drama Company, but deferred her last year of school to work on the show "McLeods Daughters," according to IMDb.com.  

Carpani also appeared in the first season of "NCIS: Los Angeles" in 2009 and recently had a role in the Australian soap opera "Home and Away."  The actress also appeared in multiple films, including Ben Affleck's 2020 film "The Way Back."
