Potawatomi Bingo Casino hiring for final stages of construction

MILWAUKEE (WITI) --  Greenfire Management Services and Gilbane Building Company will hold a pre-bid and information conference July 15th for contractors interested in providing interior finishes and hardscape work for Potawatomi Bingo Casino’s hotel project.

The meeting is the fifth and final pre-bid meeting for the hotel project and will outline opportunities available to contractors, the bid process, expectations and timeline.  The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. July 15th at Woodland Dreams Ballroom at Potawatomi Bingo Casino 1721 West Canal St., Milwaukee.

Free parking will be available in the Casino’s parking structure.

The Forest County Potawatomi broke ground on the $1.5 million hotel project in June 2012. The eighteen story hotel will be more than 371,000 square feet with 381 guest rooms, expansive lobby, meeting space, fitness facility, lobby bar, casual dining restaurant and additional parking.

It is the Tribe’s goal that a quarter of the hotel’s construction workforce will be held by residents of the City of Milwaukee, and at least 20 percent of construction work will be awarded to minority-owned firms, honoring the Forest County Potawatomi’s tradition of placing a priority on diverse hiring practices.

In addition to construction employment, the hotel will add approximately 230 permanent jobs to the 2,600 already existing jobs at Potawatomi Bingo Casino.
