Port Washington police arrest 15-year-old boy in burglary

PORT WASHINGTON -- Port Washington police arrested a 15-year-old boy who they suspect is responsible for the burglary of a home on Portview Drive on Tuesday, February 21st.

Officials say the homeowners were away from the home for the day. While they were gone, the home had been forcibly entered, ransacked and lots of property was taken -- including cash, coins and a .22 caliber handgun.

Investigators almost immediately developed a suspect. On Wednesday, February 22nd, officers got a search warrant at the home of the suspect. They secured the stolen money and gun. They also seized a sizable amount of drug paraphernalia and some marijuana. A laptop that was previously reported stolen was also recovered.

The suspect is being held at the Washington County Juvenile Detention Facility right now. He could face multiple charges.
