Police: Woman shot, injured while trying to break up fight in street

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 2100 block of N. 40th St. at 8:21 p.m. on September 23rd.

The victim, a 55 year old female, was shot while trying to break up a fight in the street between groups of adult women.

Police believe the victim was not the intended target and have identified a suspect.

The victim suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Both the victim and suspect are from Milwaukee, our investigation is ongoing…
