Police say fugitive Ruben Contera is "very, very dangerous"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Police are looking for 38-year-old Ruben Contera, a man they say was the gunman in to separate shootings back in 2001.

Investigators say he was asked by a friend to settle a dispute over a stereo, that ended in gunfire.

"Came back, talked to the people on the porch and shot at the people on the porch," MPD Detective Erik Gulbrandson said.

Gulbrandson says it happened in July of 2001 off of South 30th Street near Pierce.

The bullets missed their intended targets.

However, about a month later, investigators were talking about a homicide. Police say Contera was again asked to settle a fight that started in a bar near South 13th Street and Beecher. That shooting turned out to be fatal, after Alejandro Marin died at the scene.

Police describe Contera as "very, very dangerous."

If you have any information on Contera's location, you're asked to call U.S. Marshals at 414-297-3707.
