Police investigate suspicious package near State & Milw.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police on Tuesday afternoon, April 30th were investigating a suspicious package near State and Milwaukee downtown.

No one was evacuated from the area at this time -- but police blocked off some streets as they attempted to confirm whether the package was harmful.

Police later said an investigation revealed the package contained no explosives and was not a threat to the public.

An MPD Bomb Squad robot was called to the scene to investigate and ensure the package was not dangerous.
