Police investigate shooting near 16th & National Ave.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred near 16th and National Ave. on the city's south side early Wednesday morning, January 9th.

Officials say one person sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg around 1:38 a.m. The victim was transported to St. Luke's Medical Center.

The circumstances leading to the shooting are unknown.

Police say no suspects are in custody.
