Police investigate robbery at Guaranty Bank at 124th & Capitol

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- Brookfield police were investigating the robbery of the Guaranty Bank at 124th and Capitol on Thursday afternoon, May 16th.

Police say a getaway vehicle was found abandoned on the service drive in front of the bank.

Witnesses say three African-American men entered the bank with their faces covered. At least one semi-automatic handgun was displayed.

Police say bank employees were ordered to the ground, and two suspects jumped the counters and took an undetermined amount of money.

Police say the suspects initially fled on foot north across Capitol Drive and behind an office building, where they entered a secondary vehicle with two other occupants. This vehicle was described as a black, four-door mid-sized Hyundai or Honda.

Police say this vehicle headed north on 127th Street.

Police say additional money and evidence was discovered on 124th and Congress.
