Police investigate recent rash of carjackings in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- There have been at least five carjackings in the Milwaukee area since January 13th -- with the latest taking place in a parking lot at the Harley-Davidson headquarters.

The incident happened in a secured near 35th and Juneau around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 30th.

"Lots of people always out here, up and down the street," said neighbor Sylvia Allen. "You have to really watch yourself out here. It's really scary."

Due to similar locations and circumstances, police believe at least three of the recent carjackings are related. The incidents took place at 10th and Juneau, 4th and Galena, and 37th and National between 3:30 and 6:30 in the evening. All three crimes also involved a weapon.

The latest theft has those in the area on high alert -- keeping an eye out and doing their best to stay safe.

"You never know what's going to happen any time of the day so you just have to be ready, really," said Takeim Thompson.

A police source tells FOX6 four suspects have been arrested in connection with the most recent carjacking. Harley-Davidson says they have made employees aware, heightened security and are working with authorities.
