Police investigate attempted armed robbery, armed robbery at Popeye's, McDonald's
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred at the Popeye's Restaurant near Appleton Avenue and Capitol Drive -- and an armed robbery that happened at the McDonald's restaurant just prior.
The attempted armed robbery at the Popeye's Restaurant happened on Tuesday, June 9th shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Police say the suspect(s) displayed a handgun but did not manage to obtain cash or property from anyone at the restaurant.

No one has been taken into custody in connection with this robbery.
Police are investigating whether this attempted armed robbery is connected to another armed robbery that took place at the McDonald’s Restaurant near N. 49th Street and Hampton Ave.

The armed robbery that occurred at the McDonald's restaurant happened just after 2:00 p.m.
Police say the suspect(s) displayed a handgun and was able to obtain an unknown amount of money from the restaurant.
No one was injured.
The investigation into both of these incidents is ongoing.
