Police: 43-year-old man shot, killed while helping stranded motorist near 8th & Atkinson

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say a 43-year-old man was killed in a shooting near 8th and Atkinson on Monday evening, December 28th.

It happened around 6:30 p.m.

Police say the victim, who has been identified as Clifford Morgan, was approached and shot by an unknown subject while he was assisting a motorist who was stuck in the snow.

Morgan died on scene from his injuries despite the efforts of police and fire personnel.

The motorist was not injured and is not related to the victim.

Police say they do not believe this shooting was a random act. Instead, police believe this shooting happened as a result of an ongoing dispute.

No further details have yet been released.
