Police: 34-year-old man shot, injured near Old World Third and Wells in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning, August 19th.

It happened near Old World Third Street and Wells Street just before 3 a.m.

Police say a 34-year-old man was shot during an altercation on the street. After being shot, the victim was able to drive to 4th and W. Kilbourn Avenue where he flagged down a passing squad car.

He was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

After the shooting the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Police say their investigation into this incident is ongoing.
