Police: 2 men found dead in home after report of shots fired in Wauwatosa; firearm recovered
WAUWATOSA -- Wauwatosa police said two men were found dead in a home near Warren and Church Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 22.
Police said they responded to the home shortly before 4 p.m. to check the welfare of someone inside after a witness told police they heard gunshots. The men were found unresponsive inside the home, and a firearm was located near them.
The investigation is ongoing. Police said "there is no danger to the public and there are no suspects police are looking for."

For hours, neighbors watched the police activity, anxious to learn what happened.
"It's like, a deep feeling in your heart and you just wish for best," said Madeline Herbert.
Herbert was among the neighbors watching officers come and go at a home near 81st and Warren.

"It's unbelievably sad and heartbreaking that something like this is happening here, because it doesn't. Nothing like this ever happens," said Herbert.
"It's odd for this part of the city to have something like this go on," said John Enos.
"Just pray for the family and everyone who was involved and all the officers and responders that were involved that just -- that they have a calm mind for stuff like this. It's a mix of emotions for us here on Warren Avenue," said Herbert.
The investigation is ongoing.
