Person in custody after fire at St. Anthony Parish School in Oconto Falls

OCONTO FALLS (AP) -- Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen says local authorities have taken a person into custody in a fire that caused extensive damage to a church school in Oconto Falls.

Van Hollen says the Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting, but an initial investigation indicates the fire at St. Anthony Parish School was not accidental.

The person's name was not released. No charges have been filed.

The fire sent billowing smoke clouds and flames through the roof Tuesday night.

Sixteen-year-old Vince Enneper says he was walking home from the library and spotted the fire. The teen says he pried open a door and grabbed a fire extinguisher, but the flames were too intense.

Classes at St. Anthony have been moved indefinitely to Grace Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls.
