Pedestrian struck after 2 cars collide at intersection on UW-Milwaukee campus
MILWAUKEE -- Two University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students were hospitalized after an incident that happened near the intersection of Maryland and Kenwood on Monday afternoon, May 7.
Officials say around 3 p.m., a westbound car on Kenwood went through a red light, colliding with a vehicle headed southbound on Maryland Ave. After the collision, the westbound vehicle continued through the intersection and struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
Police are investigating the possibility of a medical event being the cause of the initial accident. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be involved.

The pedestrian and the driver of the westbound vehicle were taken to a hospital. The driver of the southbound vehicle suffered minor injuries -- but was not taken to the hospital. All three persons are UWM students.
Officials say none of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening.
