Pedestrian seriously injured in Beaver Dam hit-and-run

BEAVER DAM (WITI) -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials are investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred early Sunday morning, January 26th in the Town of Beaver Dam.

It happened just after 2:30 a.m.

Officials say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Madison Street just south of the Beaver Dam city limits.

A witness indicated that he and the victim were walking southbound on Madison St. from Lake Crest Dr. when a dark colored sedan came up behind them at an estimated 40 to 45 mph and struck the victim from behind. The vehicle did not stop and left the scene traveling southbound.  A witness indicated that there should be significant damage to the right front corner of the vehicle and possibly the windshield.

The 33-year-old male victim of Beaver Dam was taken to the Beaver Dam Community Hospital and then transported to UW Hospital in Madison for life-threatening injuries.

The Dodge County Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene to assist. Evidence has been collected and the investigation is ongoing.
