One killed, one injured in truck vs. motorcycle crash in Delafield

DELAFIELD -- One person is dead and one person sustained serious injuries following a motorcycle vs. pickup truck accident Wednesday afternoon, October 24th in Delafield.

Officials say at 2:56 p.m. a 49-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman traveling on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle were struck by a 65-year-old man driving a pickup truck.

Authorities say the motorcyclists were traveling southbound on Highway 83 when they were struck by a pickup truck taking a left-hand turn from northbound Highway 83.

Police say the 49-year-old driver of the motorcycle died as a result of the injuries he sustained during the crash. The 46-year-old woman was transported to the hospital via Flight for Life with serious injuries.

Both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle were not wearing helmets.

At this time, it is unknown if the pickup truck driver will face any charges or if he sustained any injuries as a result of the crash.

The cause of the crash is unknown.
