MPD officer on motorcycle struck by car on Hoan Bridge

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say just before 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 22nd a Milwaukee police officer on a motorcycle was hit by a car on the Hoan Bridge.

Officials report the ramp to go southbound over the Hoan Bridge was closed.

Officials say the MPD officer suffered bumps and bruises and was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The striking vehicle stayed at the scene.

Via a tweet, the Milwaukee Police Department said: "Milwaukee police officer just hit on his police motorcycle on the Hoan Bridge. Driver struck him from behind. Investigation is ongoing. He slid about 100 feet and heading to hospital to get checked out. Officers on scene say he'll be OK. Nothing can keep our MPD Motorcycle Unit Officers down!!! Prayers for a full recovery."
