MPD: Man shot, injured near McGovern Park in Milwaukee, police searching for suspect

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred near McGovern Park Wednesday night, October 19th.

Police were called to the area near Custer Avenue and Hopkins Street around 9:00 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated. Police say the 27-year-old male victim was treated on scene by the Milwaukee Fire Department and conveyed to a local hospital where he is being treated for a  serious gunshot injury.

Milwaukee Police continue to search for a suspect.
