MPD: Keen eye leads to arrest of homicide suspect, drug recovery

MILWAUKEE -- Observant officers from District Five of the Milwaukee Police Department spotted something out of the ordinary which led to the arrest of a homicide suspect.

The officers were monitoring an event in the 2200 block of W. Capitol Drive around 5:10 p.m. on April 28th when they saw a Cadillac SRX with an out-of-state license plate that did not list to the vehicle.

The officers conducted a traffic stop and the driver was identified as a 27-year-old man who is a suspect in a homicide. The man was placed into custody and officers also confiscated more than three grams of cocaine and several cell phones from his vehicle.

The passenger in the car, a 19-year-old man, was arrested for several municipal warrants and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Narcotic.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
