MPD: Convicted felon arrested with loaded gun, drugs on city’s north side

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police officers arrested a convicted felon after he was found with a loaded gun and drugs inside a car on the city's north side.

District Five officers were on patrol in the area of 2nd and Wright around 10:40 p.m. on February 24th when the saw a man asleep in a parked vehicle. As they approached the car, they smelled marijuana and saw an open bottle of alcohol on the passenger seat.

The officers woke up the man inside and found cocaine in the center counsel as well as a loaded Ruger 9mm gun in the glove compartment.

The subject, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, is a convicted felon and was taken into custody. He faces potential charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Cocaine.

The gun that was recovered was later determined to be stolen. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
