MPD: 1 person seriously injured following accident near N. 17th & North
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police tell FOX6 News one person suffered serious injuries following a crash that took place near N. 17th and W. North Avenue Thursday evening, July 28th. Four vehicles were involved in this incident.
According to police, a speeding 1997 Chevy Suburban westbound on North Avenue disregarded the stop light at 17th St. and collided with a 2003 Chevy PT Cruiser-- which was turning onto North Avenue from southbound 17th St. The PT cruiser then struck two vehicles stopped at the light facing eastbound, none of the occupants of the stopped vehicles were injured.
The lone 35-year-old male occupant of the PT Cruiser suffered life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated at a local hospital. The lone occupant of the Suburban, described as a young male, was picked up by a following vehicle and fled the scene.
Police say their investigation into this accident and the identification of the driver of the Suburban is ongoing.
