Milwaukee police recover vehicle in hit-and-run crash

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a injury hit-and-run accident which occurred in the intersection of 6th and Madison just after 7 p.m. on Friday, March 28th.

A 53-year-old woman from Milwaukee was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle, which was traveling south on S. 6th St.

The victim is being treated at a hospital and is in stable condition.

After the accident the striking vehicle continued south on S. 6th St.  A citizen was able to obtain the license plate of the striking vehicle -- and later, police indicated they recovered the vehicle in question.

There are no suspects in custody at this time.
