Milwaukee police: Convicted felon arrested with gun, drugs on city's north side
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police arrested two suspects, including a convicted felon, after they found a loaded gun and drugs during a traffic stop on the city's north side on Friday, February 19th.
Officers were on patrol in the neighborhood near 46th and Center just before 6 p.m. Friday when they saw a car stopped in the street and blocking traffic. The car also matched a description of a vehicle used in a recent crime.
A male suspect, later identified as a 37-year-old Milwaukee man, approached the car and handed a backpack to the driver, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man.
Officers stopped both men and found a loaded semi-automatic handgun, heroin, and crack cocaine in the backpack.
Both men were immediately taken into custody. The 37-year-old is a convicted felon and has a criminal record dating back to 1997.
