Milwaukee police: Convicted felon arrested for armed robbery

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A convicted felon was arrested by officers from the Milwaukee Police Department’s Neighborhood Task Force shortly after committing an armed robbery on Milwaukee’s west side.

Officers on patrol were flagged down by a victim in the 2100 block of N. 46th Street at about 9:20 p.m. on November 3.

The victim, a 21-year-old Milwaukee man, told officers that a suspect with a gun had just robbed him of his cell phone and cash before firing shots at him.

The victim was not injured and told officers the direction the suspect was heading.

The officers located the suspect in the 2300 block of N. 44th Street and the suspect began to flee on foot.

Following a short foot chase, the suspect was taken into custody in the 2200 block of N. 46th Street.

During the chase, the suspect dropped a loaded pistol and officers also found the stolen cell phone.

The suspect is a 20-year-old Milwaukee man and he has a prior armed robbery felony conviction from when he was a juvenile in 2009.

Milwaukee Police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
