Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office capture escaped inmate

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office captured 22-year-old Demond Thomas, an inmate who cut off his GPS bracelet late Tuesday night.

The MCSO will seek a felony charge of escape against Thomas. If convicted, he could face up to six years in prison.

In a news release issued Wednesday, Sheriff David Clarke said, "Don’t count on him being held accountable by the Milwaukee County judiciary for violating the terms of his 'second chance.'"
Thomas was already convicted of felony "take and drive vehicle without consent" and faced up to nine-and-a-half years in prison.
