ME's Office investigating co-sleeping death of three-month-old boy

GLENDALE (WITI) -- The Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the death of a three-month-old boy who died while co-sleeping with his father in a Glendale home.

According to officials, the three-month-old baby was co-sleeping with his father Tuesday May 28th around 10:30 p.m. When the father woke up around 2:20 a.m. he found the baby lying unresponsive next to him.

According to officials, the father ran out to the mother in the living room
and notified her. She took the infant and started CPR while the father called 911.

When officials arrived on the scene they found the mother performing CPR on the infant and took over for assessment. The baby had obvious post mortem signs of lividity and rigor in the hands and jaw.

An autopsy was performed and no trauma was noted.  The cause of death is pending further testing.
