Meijer intends to seek financial assistance from city of Sheboygan for superstore

SHEBOYGAN -- Meijer intends to seek financial assistance from the city of Sheboygan for a superstore there.

According to new documents, Meijer has indicated it would need $4.5 million in aid to move the project forward.

The money could come from a tax incremental financing district -- with funds paying for infrastructure work that would help prepare the site for development.

Meijer recently purchased the site of the former Memorial Mall and a connected Sears property for $10.75 million.
