Medical Examiner's report released on death of baby girl
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has released its report on the death of a baby that occurred on Sunday, October 6th.
The three-month, five-day old baby girl was co-sleeping on a bed in a "boppy pillow" with her mother and another small child -- according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
The death occurred near 22nd and Locust.
The Medical Examiner's report says the baby was placed on a "boppy pillow" on the bed and laid down next to her mother. When the baby's mother awoke, she noticed that the pillow was pushed towards the edge of the bed, and the baby was not breathing.
The Medical Examiner's report says additional children may have been sleeping in the bed when the incident occurred.
The Medical Examiner's report says the baby was normally placed in a Pack 'n Play, but the Pack 'n Play had been broken for about a month, according to the baby's mother.
The baby's mother told officials she had consumed alcohol both before and after a birthday party the day before the baby's death, according to the Medical Examiner's report.
The Medical Examiner's report indicates the residence where the baby lived was extremely dirty and unkempt throughout.
The Pack 'n Play was found filled to the brim with clothing -- according to the report.
Seven people lived in the apartment, including the baby, the baby's mother and father, and four siblings.
