Medical Examiner investigating possible heat-related death

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the death of a 28-year-old male as possibly heat-related.

The male was pronounced dead Wednesday, August 28th at 7:08 a.m., at a residence in the 5300 block of North 66 Street.

Neighbors say first responders showed up on Wednesday morning. 

"It's been hot. 100, 104 -- with the humidity, 105, 106. There was an ambulance, the fire rescue came," David Nowak said.

The decedent had a core body temperature of 104 degrees.

"More than 100 degrees. That's not good. Feel sorry for him," Nowak said.

It is unclear at this time whether the 28-year-old had any underlying health issues that could have factored into his death.

It is also unclear whether the home had working air-conditioning.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, August 29th.
